my mom made me go to downtown LA today to do some shopping, i was walking past this really small pet shop and i noticed that a cat was just lying there on a cardboard box at first i though it was tied cause yeah cats wouldn't really just lay there when there's a ton of scary people walking by him, but then i got closer and noticed that there was something seriously wrong with him because he was not moving at all and he was breathing heavily, then i asked my mom to go get the owner or manager or something while i stayed there with the cat, i stayed there petting the cat and talking to him and then it died right there with me kneeling in front of him, i'm not exaggerating it literally stopped breathing right there, and then after like five mins my mom finally came with this dude that worked there and i asked him how long the cat had been sick and the idiot said 'nah he's not sick he's just sleeping, why don't you go home and i'll take care of this shorty?' i felt like slapping him or setting his clothes on fire or something, but i just turned around and ran back to the car to get my cam, and then i went back to the place but they had taken the cat away so i just took pics of the place, then i left for like 20 mins cause if i confronted the guy again i would have said or done something stupid, when i went back i talked to the owner of the shop and i asked him if he knew that selling sick animals is illegal and the dumb ass said that he didn't sell sick animals and i'm all like 'right and what about the cat that died in my arms half an hour ago' and then he denied that there had even been a cat and i told him that i had taken pics of the cat right before the other dude came and then he's all like 'oh that cat, yeah that was not for sale he's my pet and i just brought him here for today' it was obvious he was lying right through his teeth, then i turned to leave and told him he would be hearing from the aspca soon since my dad works there -that little lie always works- and he actually offered me pet supplies to keep quiet! i mean seriously....i already reported it to the aspca and peta and i emailed a bunch of shelters and organizations in LA, i really hope they do something because i'm sure the are other sick animals in the place, and they have a ton of animals like mice, guinea pigs, puppies, rabbits, fishes, a bunch of different birds, turtles, lizards, and i even saw a scorpion which was kind of unusual
