Ok so I got a letter from OTC (thats where I got to college if you dont know) and it was about Grants that I might be eligeable for...
First of all MIGHT BE ELIGEABLE..wtf does that mean...it doesn't mean that I am getting anything...it just means that I might get them...who knows when I'll get them if I even do...
But yeah thats the Pell Grant....thats the one I want because that one does not need to be paid back at all.
But with the letter they sent a filer that talks about the TEACH Grant. This is for those students who want to become Teachers. So I guess if I want to become a teacher my grades would be good enough to get this grant as well. So my parents are pressuring me into becoming a teacher now, so I can have more money for school.
But see the problem with this is that I DO NOT WANT TO BE A TEACHER!!!!!! I mean I understand why my parents want me to do this, because then they would have to pay for muuuuuuch less of my education. Possibly none at all.
But see theres another problem with this grant...if say I do it...I start on my way to getting a teaching degree, sure....yeah great. But lets say during this time, then Im like almost done with my Graphic Design Degree. So then I just say oh I changed my mind, I don't want to be a teacher now...GUESS WHAT?
??!!!!!! THEN I WOULD HAVE TO PAY ALL THE MONEY THE "GRANT" GAVE ME BACK, PLUUUUUUUUUS INTREST!!!!!!
Or say this for instance....say I do it, I start on becoming a teacher...and I finish it all, Im a certified teacher...whoopie fucking doo for mee.....then you know what....by 8 years after I graduate, I HAVE TO TEACH AT SOME POOR SCHOOL FOR 4 YEARS!!!!!!! Thats 4 full years of my life, dealing with kids, and their "problems" ....and not to mention, trying to cram some knowledge into their rotten brains.....O.

also...if I dont find a job at a poorer school with in those 8 yrs...guess what happens? I STILL HAVE TO PAY BACK ALL THE MONEY THE "GRANT" GAVE ME PLUS INTEREST!!!!!!
so yeah, fuck this....that "grant" is screw you to teachers everywhere...._|_
gah im already having a hard enough time trying to keep my grades up for A+.....>.

and to those of you who are not in college yet...I STRONGLY suggest, if you even go, getting grants and scholar ships, before you go...
